10305 - Entrepreneurial university roles in Mexico: The Office of International Programs of the University of Colima

The University of Colima (UCOL) is a member of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES) of the Mexican Association for International Education (AMPEI), the Consortium for Higher Education in North America (CONAHEC) of the Organization of Latin American Universities (OUI) of the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the Union of Universities of Latin America (UDUAL).

The institutional commitment from the University of Colima in this project is the generation of a new model in Mexico: being an office with a type operation as a Triple Helix Center, which encourages private and public investment.

This model includes the entire west central region into global policies for sustainable growth and active participation from government, academia and private enterprise.

This pilot project OPI-NCP-TH will serve as a benchmark for other universities in Mexico on how to manage and implement an office in the context of the pursuit for international funding with OPI-NCP-TH focus.
