This symposium is based upon the notion that the past, rather than a stagnant analysis unit, is the outcome of a continuous reconstruction that intertwines history and imagination and that seeks to create and advance personal or collective identity models. The past is, therefore, real because imaginary. In essence wide and inclusive, this symposium welcomes research proposals that explain the many-folded uses of the past by means of a variety of disciplines, including History, Ethnohistory, Archaeology, Anthropology, Political Sciences, Linguistics, Arts, etc., to foster an interdisciplinary scholarly exchange. Papers in Spanish and English are welcome.
