This symposia shall explores the influence of s elf-organisation and a new institutionality on the current state transformation processes in Latin America, and their relation to each other. The core question is how s elf-organisation and a new institutionality initiated changes of government, constituent processes, the emergence of new forms of state and democracy, a new institutionality, new development stategies and social distribution mechanisms, the construction of distinct socio-cultural spaces below and above the nation state scale, new gender relations, a changed relationship with nature, and cultural transformations.
